TORONTO BLACK PRIDE

Toronto Black Pride is Canada’s leading celebration for LGBTQI+ people of African, Caribbean, and Black descent. We create spaces that honour and uplift our communities through cultural events, education, and advocacy that affirm our spiritual, emotional, and creative wellbeing.

Toronto Black Pride takes place during Caribana weekend, addressing a lacking representation and feeling of safety for the African, Black, and Caribbean LGBTQI+ communities. Toronto Black Pride reclaims our space as a bold act of visibility, resistance, and love, ensuring that our presence is seen during Caribana weekend, free from homophobia, transphobia and anti-Black racism.

Toronto Black Pride amplifies, uplifts and connects the many celebrations, gatherings, and cultural happenings that take place throughout the weekend.

On Sunday, Blockobana, a vibrant celebration of music, food, and community, is hosted by Blackness Yes! Blockobana is the second-largest gathering of African, Black, and Caribbean LGBTQI+ people in Canada.

The weekend closes on Emancipation Day Monday as we as a honour our ancestors and their fight for freedom and revolution, as we continue our ongoing fight for liberation, joy, and belonging.
